Nyjah Huston: Banking on Skateboarding

Most people do not see skateboarding as a steady source of income, but Nyjah Huston is out to prove them wrong. With a net worth of $6 million, he is considered to be the highest earning skateboarder in the world. Moreover, the cash just keeps rolling in for Nyjah as it is said that he earns $800,000 each year.

Nyjah Huston started his skateboarding career at a young age. He is said to be the youngest person to compete in the X Game competitions. However, he gained prominence when he inked his first sponsorship. As an amateur skateboarder, Huston was part of the Element team which allowed him to take part in the Elementality series. He left Element to build his own skateboard deck company called I&I, but he soon returned to Element after two years.

Apart from Element, Nyjah Huston is also sponsored by Diamond Supply Co., Ricta, CCS, MOB Grip, Nike Skateboarding and Apparel, DC Shoes, Monster Energy, Liquipel, Adapt Technology, and Hawkers.

With his earnings, Nyjah and his mother, Kelle have founded the Let It Flow foundation. This organization aims to provide sanitary, potable, and available sources of water to places like Ethiopia and other communities that need a steady source of water.

Nyjah Huston: Breaking Records

Apart from being the highest paid skateboarder and the youngest X Game competitor, Nyjah Huston has been breaking skateboarding records. Nyjah has also won the largest prize money for any skateboarder after his win in the 2013 X Games Street League.

He is also the only skater who performed the 270-degree kickflip lipslide on film, which earned him a Kimberley Diamond Cup win. On top of all this, Nyjah Huston was also declared overall champion for five years at the Street League Skateboarding. He came on top for the year 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

With all his skateboarding achievement and worldwide fame, Nyjah Huston is showing no sign of slowing down.
