Skateboard Video Vault: Rail Flip

The Rail Flip

The Rail Flip is a freestyle skateboarding trick that is usually done on flat ground.  What is most unique about this trick is that it is done without moving.  This is because the skateboard is propped up on its side in the starting position.  The skater starts in primo with the board on it’s side balanced on the edge of the board and the the wheels completely sideways, or on the rail. They then flip the board half a rotation, or 180, on to the other rail. You can do as many flips and rotations as you want as this video shows. As long as you start on a rail and land back on another, you have yourself a rail flip. It is a really difficult trick that can easily send you flying backwards onto your bum. Do this trick enough and it will be easy to dial in.
